Materials & Craft

Materials are where Knollwoods begins. Natural fibers come first because clothing should feel good, wear honestly, and remain useful over time.

We choose cotton, wool, merino, cashmere, and cellulosic fibers for what they do, not simply what they signal. Every material has to earn its place through comfort, durability, hand feel, and use.

The standard is straightforward: make things we would want to keep.

Making

Making is part of the design.

Our knit program is made in the United States and knit in Cleveland, Ohio. Working close to production lets us pay attention to yarn, structure, proportion, and finish instead of treating manufacturing as an afterthought.

The goal is not to make origin a slogan. It is to use the right place and process to make the product better.

Standards

Quality is essential. Durability matters as much as comfort.

Knollwoods is built around a few straightforward standards: materials should be chosen deliberately, products should be useful, construction should withstand scrutiny, and design should feel familiar without becoming ordinary.

We make it better because we care about the details that determine whether something is kept.
